Mumbai, Mar 29 (Reporter) Shariful Islam, arrested for allegedly attacking actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence in January this year, moved for a bail in the Sessions court, denying all the charges leveled against him by police, a lawyer said on Saturday. The Mumbai sessions court will hear the same on April 1. In his plea, Islam said he had not committed any offence and that a "false" case had been registered against him. Terming the statements in the FIR as an “imaginary story”, Islam said if granted bail, he will abide by the conditions set by the court. In the bail plea he also denied the prosecution claims that he is Bangladeshi national and said he possesses several documents to prove his identity. The plea termed the police’s allegations as "false". He said he has been made a "scapegoat" and has no involvement in the case. Islam was arrested on Jan 7 by Mumbai Police, almost 70 hours after the stabbing incident. He is booked under sections 311 (robbery or dacoity with the intent to cause grievous hurt or death, 331(4) (house-breaking) and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and Passport Act, 1967...////...
