Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed that the implementation of projects related to the Narmada Basin be expedited to ensure an adequate water supply for irrigation in all regions. He presided over the 32nd meeting of the Board of Directors of Narmada Basin Projects Company Limited at Samatva Bhavan (Chief Minister's Residence) on Tuesday.
Dr. Yadav instructed that arrangements be made to ensure water reaches the tail-end of farmers’ fields. He also reviewed the company’s working procedures and future plans to make regional development efforts more effective. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister and Managing Director of Narmada Basin Projects Company Limited, Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Director Mr. Hirdaram Chauhan, and other board members.
During the meeting, Managing Director Dr. Rajoura provided a detailed update on the company’s progress, the current status of ongoing projects, and upcoming plans. He informed the Chief Minister that the Narmada-Kshipra Link Multipurpose Project is in its final stages. Additionally, he mentioned that a major land-worship ceremony (Bhoomi Pujan) is proposed for a lift irrigation project in Khandwa district and another significant project in Dhar district.
Various issues and development plans were discussed during the meeting. Officials stated that this year, the Narmada Basin Projects Company Limited will take more rapid and effective measures to ensure the timely execution of all proposed projects, thereby strengthening regional development and infrastructure.
