New Delhi, Jan 8 (Reporter) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MPs Sanjay Singh, Narain Das Gupta and former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal have filed their nominations for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections on Monday here.
Taking to microblogging site X, the AAP extended wishes to the candidates who filed their nominations for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections scheduled to be held on January 19.
“@SanjayAzadSln, @SwatiJaiHind & @AAPNDGupta filed their nominations for Rajya Sabha today. Wishing them all the strength in representing the voice of common citizens of India to the upper house,” the AAP said.
Referring to Sanjay Singh as the People's leader, the AAP said, "People’s leader Sanjay Singh Azad will once again raise the voice of public in the assembly."
Sanjay Singh, a senior Aam Aadmi party, is currently in jail in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. He was arrested on October 4,2023, by the enforcement directorate.
The party’s Political Affairs Committee, led by its national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Friday, nominated former DCW chief Swati Maliwal and renominated sitting MPs ND Gupta and Sanjay Singh as its candidates for the Rajya Sabha.
Maliwal resigned from the post of chief of DCW after the party nominated her as a candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections...////...
