Beijing, June 5 (Reporter) Three people have lost their lives after being trapped in a flooded coal mine on June 1 in east China's Shandong Province, while three others died in a tunnel cave-in a day back in Qinghai, rescuers confirmed Wednesday.
Eight people were trapped in the flooded Shandong coal mine last week, of whom five were rescued alive on Tuesday.
The flooding occurred around 5 pm on Saturday at the Huafeng coal mine in Tai'an city. Of the 10 miners working underground, two managed to escape, one trapped was found dead Monday and the other seven were found Tuesday.
In the Qinghai under-construction tunnel cave-in in the northwest, three people trapped were found dead early Wednesday, local authorities said.
An investigation into the causes is underway, and business operations of companies involved in the accidents have been suspended, according to the city's emergency management bureau...////...
