Patna, Mar 9 (Reporter) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar distributed appointment letters to the newly appointed teachers.
While distributing the appointment letter as a token among some of the selected aspirants here on Sunday, Kumar said that 51,389 teachers were recently appointed by the Bihar Public Service Commission in the third phase.
He said that altogether 2 lakh 68 thousand 548 teachers have been appointed in three phases including one lakh 20 thousand 336 in the first phase and 94,833 in the second phase.
In addition to this 42,918 Headmasters qualified in the examination conducted recently by the BPSC, will be given their appointment letters. With this, a total number of 311466 teachers have been appointed in the state since 2023.
In view of the dearth of teachers the Panchayat and Civic bodies also made the appointments since 2006-07 and in all nearly 368000 teachers including 28000 contractual teachers became government employees after qualifying the examination conducted by the BPSC.
He said that 340000 contractual teachers will not be required to face the examinations conducted by the BPSC but examinations would be conducted for them separately and they will get at least 5 opportunities. The Chief Minister said that in all 5 lakh 65427 teachers including the permanent and contractual teachers have been appointed in the state so far.
He said that to improve the educational scenario schools were opened in large numbers and the infrastructures were upgraded in the existing schools to promote education. Several schemes including uniform scheme, cycle and other such schemes were introduced . In addition to this, with a mission to promote higher education among the girls they were also getting cash reward after qualifying class 12th and up to graduation.
Earlier the budgetary allocations for education used to be very low whereas his government increased it to 22 percent.
Kumar appealed to the teachers to educate the students properly so that their personality would also improve along with their education...////...
