32 injured as private bus overturns near Namhol

Bilaspur, July 11 (Reporter) At least 32 passengers sustained injuries after a private bus carrying devotees overturned near Namhol in Bilaspur district in the early morning hours today. The bus was returning from Nurmahal in Punjab to Darlaghat in Himachal Pradesh when the accident occurred under circumstances that are currently under investigation. According to initial reports, the bus skidded off the road and overturned on a curve, causing panic and chaos among the passengers. Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Emergency services, including police and ambulances, were rushed to the site, and rescue operations were initiated promptly by the district administration. The injured were immediately shifted to AIIMS Bilaspur, while the bus driver was admitted to the Civil Hospital at Markand. Officials said that interim relief has been disbursed to the victims as per government norms. A case has been registered, and authorities are examining whether driver fatigue or technical failure led to the mishap. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited AIIMS, Bilaspur to enquire about the well-being of the injured passengers. He interacted with the victims and their families and assured them that the state government would provide all possible assistance. The Chief Minister directed the hospital authorities to ensure timely and best medical care for all injured without any delay.
