3.2 magnitude earthquake jolts Mandi & Lahaul Spiti districts

Shimla, Mar 5 (Reporter) Two earthquakes of 3.2 magnitude jolted parts of Mandi and Lahaul Spiti districts in the past 24 hours, as the state Indian Meteorological Press Release issued here confirmed. According to IMD, an earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was recorded at 0656 hours in Mandi district in the state. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a longitude of 31.57 and a latitude of 77.18 at a depth of five km at Koel in the Thunag subdivision of the Mandi district, about 250 km from the capital town of Shimla. IMD also confirmed that an earthquake of the same magnitude was also felt in the snowbound area of Lahaul Spiti at 1328 hours on Monday, as the epicenter was located at a longitude of 32.15 and a latitude of 77.67 and five km deep near and 300 km from here.
