23 students hospitalised due to food poisoning in Telangana

Karimnagar, Jan 7 (Reporter) Twenty-three students of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Gurukul School in Sharmanagar, Karimnagar town, fell ill due to suspected food poisoning on Monday night. Of these, 13 students were hospitalized, while 10 received medication and were discharged. The incident occurred after the students consumed a meal of cabbage curry served at the school. By midnight, several students began vomiting, prompting the staff to suspect food poisoning and take immediate action. Additional Collector Prapul Desai visited the school on Tuesday to inspect the premises and review the situation. He emphasised the importance of maintaining hygiene and instructed the school authorities to ensure cleanliness to prevent such incidents in the future. The 13 students currently receiving treatment at the Karimnagar Government Hospital are reported to be in stable condition.
