14-member delegation of Bangladeshi Islamic parties on visit to China

Dhaka, Nov 27 (Reporter) For the first time, a delegation comprising 10 leaders from the Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir, and four leaders from four other Islamic parties left Dhaka for China on Wednesday night. The 14-member team was led by Jamaat-e-Islami's central Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher. They are visiting at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the observerbd.com said. The delegation includes Jamaat Assistant Secretary Generals ATM Masum, Rafiqul Islam Khan, Ehsanul Mahbub Zobair, and Moazzem Hossain Helal, as well as Central Executive Committee member and Publicity Secretary Matiur Rahman Akand. Islami Chhatra Shibir's Central Secretary General Jahidul Islam will also join, alongside leaders from other Islamic parties, including Bangladesh Khilafat Andolan's Ameer Abu Zafar Qasemi, Khelafat Majlis Secretary General Ahmad Abdul Qader, Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party Secretary General Musa bin Izhar, and Hefazat-e-Islam's Organising Secretary Azizul Haque Islamabadi. The delegation is expected to return to Bangladesh on December 5. This visit follows a recent visit by a delegation from the BNP, led by Vice Chairman Asaduzzaman Ripon, who travelled to China at the CPC's invitation.
